EODev presented its land-based hydrogen power generator and maritime range extender in operation on the industrial site of its partner and manufacturer ENERIA, on Thursday, September 17, in the presence of its shareholders. The products developed by the start-up meet the objectives of the "France Hydrogen plan”.
Our catamaran left the Bahamas on 15th July to set sail for Martinique, where she arrived on 28th July. A navigation of more than 1,500 miles carried out in one go with difficult weather conditions.
Back ashore for our crew that landed in Nassau, Bahamas. After two months at sea and an experience as close as possible to nature, the concrete of the city will replace the mangroves, the gulfweed and the incredible biodiversity that accompanied them throughout this very special chapter of our odyssey.
A few days after our arrival in the Bahamas, the crew was given permission to anchor, and can move and film freely. The Quebec flag is hoisted, which means we can continue on our way to Tiger Beach, a unique shark watching site in the world.
Organized by the Yacht Club de Monaco, this event is unique in the world as it demonstrates the true commitment of researchers, future engineers, and professionals to carbon-free yachting. And hydrogen solutions were largely rewarded!
In the Gulf of Gonâve, off the coast of Haiti, the effects of climate change are multiple. In this fishing village on a sandbank, violent hurricanes regularly sweep away makeshift houses, endangering people already weakened by a difficult situation. Striking images captured by our crew.
Discover the Cousteau Reserve, in Guadeloupe, near the Pigeon Islets. Commander Cousteau symbolizes forever the epic of the first underwater pioneers.
Only consume what we are capable to producing, and no more than what nature can give us: that's what the boat and crew manage to do on a daily basis!
Our crew sets foot ashore at Forked Island for a few hours. This deserted island located in the heart of the Caribbean north of Saint-Barthélemy, shelters an ecosystem and in particular the vegetation has adapted to the lack of water and extreme salinity.
While the crew of Energy Observer continues to navigate the Atlantic without being able to set foot on land, another team is holding its breath: that of Energy Observer Developments (EODev), whose REXH2 is currently sailing on the first hydrogen vessel around the world.
Energy Observer’s first transatlantic passage, from Finistère to Martinique, served as a test bed for this year’s key innovations in renewable energies aboard the floating laboratory.
