Compagnie Maritime Belge
Compagnie Maritime Belge “CMB” manages nearly 100 vessels sailing the oceans all over the world. Within CMB, our CMB Technologies department is developing various hydrogen-projects. In 2017, CMB Technologies launched the Hydroville, the first classed vessel in the world to use hydrogen to power conventional heat engines and thus reducing its CO2 carbon emissions. Several other projects are in the process of being worked on: more powerful hydrogen engines, a hydrogen supply station, research into new storage methods and the development of new vessel types powered by hydrogen.
“CMB shares the same environment, the same oceans and the same vision as Energy Observer and its crew. We are convinced that in future hydrogen solutions can be the key element in maritime zero-emissions transport and in the energy transition in general.”
